Rattlesnakes are being classified as a group of venomous snakes that belongs to the subfamily of poisonous serpents known as Crotalinae. According to studies, there are thirty species of rattlesnakes with enormous numbers of subspecies. They obtain their name for the “rattle” placed at the end of its tails. They used to rattle when they are being threatened. They are among the few animal groups with dual visual systems. Aside from their eyes, they possess sensory organs in their upper jaws which can essentially see infrared images.

Basically, this kind of snake is fascinating to human kinds since they belong to the most highly specialized organisms on the planet. They are capable of detecting heat from a candle flame 30 feet away. As being depicted as a venomous snake, rattlesnakes have toxic saliva which is considered as the most complex substances known. Their oral fluids are mixtures of enzymes unique to pit vipers which destroy blood or paralyze nerves.

Description of Rattlesnakes
